Carolien is a kind-natured and gentle person who provides social work services at TLC WA. Before joining TLC WA, she gained years of experience working in the fields of family and domestic violence, mental health support, and homelessness. Carolien is fully registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers and holds a Bachelor of Social Work from Curtin University in Perth.

Carolien is passionate about using a strength-based practice and a collaborative approach. She has a particular interest in connecting clients with their communities, supporting their emotional wellbeing, and believes that they are the experts of their own lives. She is dedicated to helping families identify and understand issues that might impact their wellbeing and help to make positive changes.

She also had years of experience as a ballet teacher, where she developed a passion for working with children and supporting their creativity and curiosity.
In her free time, Carolien enjoys sewing, gardening, and going to the beach with her husband and their sausage dog.
